Free Tax Preparation (VITA)

Free income-tax return preparation by IRS-certified volunteers through the VITA program, for individuals and families with low to moderate income.

Filing taxes — including with an ITIN — can help you build a record and access certain credits. This service is always free.

How to access this service

  1. Bring your photo ID, Social Security or ITIN documents, and income forms (W-2, 1099).
  2. A certified volunteer prepares your return for free and reviews it with you.
  3. We file it electronically and give you a copy for your records.
